- Details
- Published on 22 July 2024
Menlo Systems introduces the Mid-IR Comb in their family of optical frequency combs, pushing precision metrology into the 3 – 14 µm mid-infrared (mid-IR) spectral range. This so-called molecular fingerprint region allows for the unambiguous characterization of molecular signatures, providing insights into the chemical composition and reaction kinetics of organic or inorganic materials. The Mid-IR Comb enables high-sensitivity and high-accuracy measurements, such as mid-IR Fourier-transform spectroscopy (FTIR), nano-FTIR, mid-IR dual-comb spectroscopy, or frequency-locking of mid-IR quantum cascade lasers.
Motorized beam expander for high-power lasers
- Details
- Published on 19 July 2024
This new motorized beam expander S6EZM0940-574 from Sill Optics achieves a particularly high resistance, when used by modern high-power lasers. The beam diameter does not fall below the minimum value on all inside lens surfaces of the lens. As a result, the energy input even on the usually critical second lens is so low, even when using high-power lasers, that damage to the material and the coating is avoided.
Capteur infrarouge MWIR
- Details
- Published on 18 June 2024

Laser with burst mode processing
- Details
- Published on 14 May 2024
Luxinar has launched the LXR® ultrashort pulse (USP) laser platform which features a significant advancement in burst mode processing. Burst mode processing involves delivering sequences (bursts) of several ultrashort laser pulses with inter-pulse delays precisely controlled for optimal material processing. These delays can be as short as 25 nanoseconds, creating a rapid sequence of pulses that interact with the material in a fundamentally different way compared to single pulses. Studies have shown that burst mode processing can significantly improve heat-related issues under certain conditions.
