Memorandum of understanding between Russian Laser Association and EPIC

Ivan Kovsh, president of the Russian Laser Association, and Carlos Lee, Director General of EPIC (European Photonics Industry Consortium ) signed on 27 February 2018 a collaboration agreement. The signature took place at the 14th international exhibition for laser, optical and optoelectronic technologies at the Expocentre fairgrounds in Moscow, Russia.

Russial Laser Association (LAS) and EPIC are mutually motivated in cooperative activities involving technological and commercial advancement in the area of photonics. The partnership will encourage direct contact and cooperation between the consortiums and its members, exchange of information and contacts, be the platform for members of a consortium to reach the other’s relevant government representatives, public funding bodies as well as other entities in the region, co-host visits of delegates of each consortium’s commercial trade missions and business events.

The members of our association have expressed high interest in engaging with the members of EPIC, therefore we are pleased to sign the collaboration agreement” said Ivan Kovsh, president of the Russian Laser Association. “EPIC’s model of connecting the European photonics community worldwide is through collaboration and partnerships. There is so much that can be done to further promote photonics technologies, no single organization can properly do this single-handedly. It’s a privilege to work with the Russian Laser Association” says Carlos Lee, Director General of EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium.

I am pleased to support and work closely with an effective organization such as EPIC to increase collaboration between Europe and Russia. We accumulated excellent connections with EPIC members and I am sure that our colleagues in Russia will gain a lot from them and EPIC events - well focused on fast growing niches of photonics markets” said Dr. Viacheslav Artyushenko, CEO and founder of art Photonics in Berlin, and an active member of EPIC.
