Founded in 2021, BLOOM LASERS manufactures high power, agile, visible and UV fiber lasers for high throughput, high precision micromachining applications. The mature and field proven fiber technology guarantees beam quality and stability, scalability, ease-of-use, ease-of-maintenance, and low cost of ownership.

After an initial incubation in Institut d’Optique d’Aquitaine with the support of ALPhANOV, BLOOM has established full independent operation in Pessac, Cité de la Photonique and has released two industrial grade UV laser products with nanosecond programmable pulses, CAREX and YUCCA. To support the commercialization and production of these two models, BLOOM’s Pessac site has offices, laboratories and a production area with a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

With over 300 m² of laboratory area, including a 150 m² laser assembly clean-room, BLOOM has strengthened its R&D projects capability and secured its production capacity of up to 10 lasers per month. The cleanroom assembly environment will be benefitial to laser lifetime.

The building is located in the heart of the local photonic cluster Alpha-RLH that is surrounded by the large laboratories and research centers of the University of Bordeaux.
