DVN, Driving Vision News the journal of reference on vehicle lighting, ADAS and car interior innovations and the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) signed a collaboration agreement on the last week of September 2020 to strengthen the photonics industry on an international level, bringing together members and knowledge to better serve the industry.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signature was publicly announced at the EPIC Online Technology Meeting on n Micro-LED for Automotive Lighting on 21 September 2020. The collaboration between DVN and EPIC is focused on cooperative activities involving industry endorsement of standards and support the development of an efficient and sustainable industry.
Driving the standards in vehicle lighting
The partnership will encourage cooperation between the experts, including participation at events, collaboration on information exchange and promotion, and advisory mandates to develop an efficient and sustainable industry. Dr. Jose Pozo, CTO of EPIC, said: “Having DVN on board as a partner brings the opportunity to EPIC members to build potential collaborations and partnerships with the key players of the automotive industry. The main goal of this cooperation is to facilitate the communication between different parts of the value chain towards building common voice for the vehicle lighting.”
Implementing agreements and standards for vehicle lighting
“The collaboration with EPIC and its members helps DVN and its network to optimize regulations and standards and to move innovations out of the labs and onto the road to maximize vehicle occupants’ safety, comfort, and convenience” said Hector Fratty, President of Driving Vision News. “For this, we need end-users, service providers, equipment vendors, and technology providers to work together using worldwide standards. The huge network of EPIC will support this mission.”
About DVN
DVN has been the driver and vehicle lighting and vision world’s journal of reference for around 12 years now, over which time we’ve expanded its reach and scope to encompass driver assistance systems (ADAS) and car interiors. Lighting, driver assistance systems, and car interiors are among the strongest growing technologies for active and passive safety in car design. DVN is your one-stop source of the information you need to keep up with all the important events and innovations happening in these industries. But DVN is more than just a news and information pipeline. It’s a global community of networked experts sharing information about lighting, ADAS and car interior innovations. And one of the biggest strengths of this community is the strength-in-numbers it takes to optimize regulations and standards to move innovations out of the labs and onto the road to maximize vehicle occupants’ safety, comfort, and convenience. www.drivingvisionnews.com
